    Installation Questions for Video Series

No. Make it generic so it can be viewed and used on any aircraft. Point out things that would be different to different aircraft but keep it generic. Best of all use any airplane except an RV. The RV's are great aircraft and have multiple videos on how to install servos in them. 8-)

PMag and RPM on a D180/120

The P-mag tach out  (pin 6) transmits 2 pulses per revolution so either set the EFIS to count 2 pulses per revolution or set the P-Mag to transmit 1 pulse per revolution. I also found that on my Skyview/EMS I had to use the enclosed 5.1v Zener Diode (between P-mag pin 6 and pin 1) to prevent the...

    Best glide range

Even better, use GPS ground speed, GPS track and actual rate of descent to provide a fairly accurate estimation of your glide range, compensated for terrain. For all other headings away from your current track it would be an estimate. SkyView already has the GPS ground speed, GPS rate of...

    SV-GPS-2020; the next step

Garmin & the other expensive IFR GPS boxes. Dynon has stated many times that jumping through the FAA required hoops to certify SkyView, even if just for enroute IFR operation, is way too costly. Probably the reason no experimental avionics company have done it. But I guess we can dream. :-/

    ADSB antenna question

If the current antenna hasn't given you any problems then yes it will. I replaced a KT76 with the SV-Xponder-261 and it works perfectly. 8-)

    ADSB antenna question

The SV-ADSB-470 requires an antenna while the SV-Xponder-261 requires a separate antenna. You can't use one antenna for both modules. The antennas should be at least 24" from each other. If you have a transponder currently installed then you can use it's antenna for the SV-Xponder-261. 8-)

Do all measuring instrument need to be calibrated?

Because everything on this planet degrades with time. Some things faster than others, but everything degrades. If you are not verifying that your "stuff" is operating correctly by cross checking it against a known good value (calibration) you won't know when your "stuff" has degraded beyond it's...

    FltPlan Go

I use FltPlanGo as my only flying app and love it. Add me to the list of SkyView users that would love to have FltPlanGo integrate with SkyView.

I am SO sick of the SA app

Even with a USB 3.0 thumb drive it takes me about 2hrs to copy the data for 11 states and I only download Low IFR, Sectionals, Approach Plates and Airport diagrams. I always have to do it twice since at least one section fails to load correctly. I have a Windows 8 PC. The last time I was...

    SV-GPS-2020 and Trig TT31

When the SV-GPS-2020 becomes available, will I be able to connect it directly to a Trig TT31 / Garmin 330ES or King KT74 transponder and therefore be 2020 ADS-B OUT compliant? 8-)

    Dual Band ADS-B

:-[ THANKS! That is what I thought but wanted to be sure. This gives me a better idea of "system" and SkyView capabilities/limitations. 8-)

    Dual Band ADS-B

Re: Duel Band ADS-B Ahh, now I got that part. Is this a SkyView capability thing, or a 1090ES "system" capability thing? IOW Could the other person (non SkyView) see me? Not worried about percent equipped aircraft right now, just system capabilities. 8-)

    Dual Band ADS-B

Re: Duel Band ADS-B Let me ask this differently: 1- I have a 2020 ADS-B compliant SkyView system (SV-Xponder & G430W connected directly and both with correct software). 2- I am out of ground station range. 3- Another 2020 compliant (1090ES OUT and ADS-B activated) aircraft is within distance...

    Dual Band ADS-B

Re: Duel Band ADS-B I am confused. Don't the Dynon  transponders receive TIS on 1090 already so if you have the ADS-B module you get both 1090 and 978 traffic? Or does the transponder only "wake up" the system and we receive all traffic via the ADS-B module via 978?  :o

    ADSB Now or wait?

As DYNON Support stated, the FAA 2020 mandate (ADS-B OUT) has nothing to do with the SV-ADSB-470 module which is ADS-B IN. If you have the SV-XPNDR-261 connected to a compliant position source with correct software versions (the DYNON GPS module is not a compliant position source) then you will...

    Input Panel
